To date, she has fostered over 75 youth in DFCS custody. For her efforts, Carol was named a finalist for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Kimberly-Clark Corporation Most Inspirational Mom contest. The search, which highlights everyday moms doing extraordinary things, sought finalists based on their contributions to their children, families and communities.
In addition, because of her compassion for people and commitment to service in the Rockdale community, she was named one of the prestigious Faces of Rockdale County 2013. She was recognized as being one of nine local people who “through their profession or through their good deeds - or both - make an everyday difference in the lives of folks in Rockdale County." In 2016, she hosted Next Level Summer Enrichment Program at Kingdom Builders Covenant Church (KBCC) in Conyers, GA.
Today, she is fulfilling her life's mission by actively working in her community to address the needs, especially those involving children. Carol serves as the current Parent Support Group coordinator (ViewPoint Health-Strive Academy) and the Program Director of Hills Academy Extended Learning Afterschool Program (ELAP). She is currently in the Leadership Rockdale class of 2018, SPLOST committee and is a member of the Community Resource Network of Rockdale County. In addition, she is in the process of finishing her book, In Harm’s Way, about her road to becoming the foster/adoptive parents God called her to be. Carol also conducts IMPACT training for adults who would like to become a foster parent.
Carol dreams of providing FREE quality programs and workshops to the population who do not have the funds to attend such programs…those who need us the most. And in her pursuit, she continues to understand that “Failure is not an option!”
